1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and name (if provided). If you sign up using Google or other OAuth providers, we receive basic profile information from those services.

Letter Content

We store the content you create, including love letters, photos, quizzes, timelines, and other personalized elements. This data is encrypted and stored securely.

Usage Information

We collect analytics data such as page views, feature usage, and letter view counts to improve our service. This helps us understand which features you love most.

Country

We offer different prices in different countries, so that the price is proportionate to local incomes rather than the same everywhere. To do that we need to know which country you are in. Your browser asks Cloudflare, the network that already serves this website, which country your connection is coming from, and stores the two-letter answer in a cookie named lt_geo that expires after one day. That request does not leave lovetale.app and nothing about you is sent to any other company. We record the country code alongside a checkout so we can tell which price was shown, we do not store your IP address, and we do not use any of this to identify you or to build a profile.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never store your credit card details directly. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.

• Country Lookup: Our engineering diagnostic page at /geo-check sends the IP address of whoever loads it to api.country.is, which returns a two-letter country code and nothing else. Signing up, writing a letter, and paying never do this — ordinary use of LoveTale does not reach that page at all.
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
• Recipients: When you share a letter, the recipient can view its contents via the unique link you provide

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission
• Secure cloud infrastructure with regular security updates
• Access controls limiting who can access your data
• Optional password protection for your letters (Pro feature)
